Guest guest
Gail, Boy you sure have had many more problems with your feet than I am experiencing right now. I have never felt that sensation at night with my feet. I guess I was wondering why I have been feeling pretty good lately except for my feet and I thought that if the rest of me was starting to experience less pain, why were only my feet starting to act up? I really don't think I could be off one foot for as long as you were as I don't think I would have the strength in my arms to get myself around with a walker having to hop on my so called good foot. Thanks for the answer though and I hope that your feet, pins and all, are doing much better. Barb > > Have you ever woke up in the night and felt your toes drawing?? Guest guest
I too get the itching ang biting feelings in my feet...usually in evening. My feet arent swelling but they did this last summer too ...thought I had fleas (from my cats who are totally inside cats and no way could have them)so many times. I think some of it is circulation and maybe some swelling ...I know after I scratch them I feel better but I have to scratch so hard ...I was putting hydrocortisone cream on them sometimes too and have gone so far as to take a benedryl too hoping it would help the itch. Good luck with it. Judy in AZ
Guest guest
Gail and Barb I sure can sympathize with you about your feet hurting. Sometimes they hurt so bad that I think that if they just didn't hurt then nothing else would. Do you ever feel like ants are biting your feet? This happens to me all of the time and it feels very sudden and sharp like a spider has bitten me. Gail, I have had other friends tell me that having their feet operated on was a really hard experience (not that any operation is great). I make a fashion statement for RA and FM everyday when I wear my tennis shoes with my dress clothes to work. Just looking at heels makes my feet hurt. I had to get a prescription to wear tennis shoes from my doc because of the dress code. Silly, isn't it? I can't wear all of those lovely sandals because my feet swell so bad in the summer. Does anyone else have this problem because of heat? To all of you searching for the holy grail of shoes, maybe the next shoe store will have the perfect pair. Yes I sure do....I could have sworn I was stung by a yellow-jacket or wasp ( on my ankle ) one afternoon last week while I was sweeping the drive.... But it wasn't anything...Just that feeling like you were asking about. Also have trouble with feet swelling in Summer...I just have to keep them elevated and drink plenty of water....Then they'll be normal for a few days. Guest guest
Dear Carol - Did your DR ever say anything about swelling feet? I've started going to DR at 16 to find out why. Thanks. Guest guest
No, I don't think I've ever asked the doctor about my foot swelling. It's annoying, but not troublesome enough that I've bothered asking about it. Sometimes they swell and I'd swear I'm wearing socks (even though I'm not). It's a weird feeling. Guest guest
I also have propet tennis shoes for work...I try to coordinate sock color...I'ms sure that helps! I wore sandles for a couple days; but it is not worth the leg cramps..so i think the fashion statement for RA is tennis shoes. I lived in NYC several years ago...and you weren't cool if you didn't wear tennis shoes to work and carry dress shoes...I just never made the change to the dress shoes...not worth the pain...There is a small family run shoe store in my town who have taken the challenge of getting me into shoes...they keep measuring and re-ordering and sending them back...if I ever come up withsomething besides my tennies...I'll let you know the brand. good luck on the footwear debate....velcro straps are best..right?
