Guest guest
Dear friends: I made it home in just about 4 hours even after experiencing a major traffic jam where the cars on the freeway inched forward for almost an hour. I am feeling better today. Welcome Al! It is always nice to have a male's point of view and input. It must be hard for you to be so young and have such debilitating diseases. It's bad when you are older but at least you don't have as many years of living with it(even though it feels like it has been forever). With being young, however, you may be able to wittness a cure for these things someday. We can only hope and pray that major breakthroughs are going to happen soon. Luann: Tri-Care is a hard one to deal with. They don't give you many choices and you usually have to put up with what you get. I have had Tri-Care Prime for many years now, but fortunately the company I just became permanent with has Blue Cross and the choices are more abundant. You can go to whatever doctor you want actually with Tri-Care but they end up paying for so little, you might as well be paying for it yourself. Good luck on searching for a good doctor. I have usually found internal medicine doctors have a better grasp of what is going on even though they act like they don't care. I had a DO once. He diagnosed the acute pain I was having as wearing my bra too tight. Later I developed yellow jaundice and hepetitis from a diseased gall bladder. I took his word and suffered needlessly for nearly 7 years because I had been brought up to trust what the doctor says. Stacey: I have a real problem with shoes though not as bad as in the past. I cannot tell you how many pairs that I have bought and went to wear later and could not. Then.......I discovered " I Love Comfort " shoes at Sears. I now wear a flat shoe that slips on kinda like a clog but without the bulky soles. I have enclosed toe and toeless front styles and even one pair of regular (comfy) dress shoes. They have just a little rise to them as I find anything higher triggers hip pain. Sears has many sales a year where I am able to get them at 50% off.(full price runs 30 to 50 dollars) And you are right about the nurses being a barometer for the office. I should have noticed that right after the first of the year when I started to try and find yet another doctor to listen and hopefully ease the pain. The nurses were surly and grouchy and did not like to answer questions. The doctor ended up everytime looking as if he had just come in from running the Tri-athalon and was in a hurry to get back. He immediately put me on a high protein, low carb diet and told me I needed to exercise, exercise, excercise. I lost nearly 20 pounds in 6 weeks but he was not happy with that and insisted I do it faster. He did not listen to any of my other symptoms even though some of them were displayed in his office. I was using my Tri-Care plan and felt it was a waste of money. The doctor that I am seeing tomorrow is a woman doctor and I have heard nothing but good things about her so keep your fingers crossed for me. I will keep you posted. (=: and Tess:=) Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear friends.......Happy birthday to you.........and many more......... I wish you many more without pain, with happiness, and good times. Carol: I think you are right. The humidity makes the pain worse.......at least it does for me. Guess I will sign off for now. Hope you all will have a wonderful day. I am certainly going to try to make mine a wonderful day.
