Hi ,

I just wanted to comment on your statement that Ambian works some nights and

not others. I finally figured out that Ambian always works for me if I have

not had anything to eat for a few hours before bedtime and does not work if

I have eaten. After I had already figured this out, my doctor told me that

Ambian is not very effective when taken on a full stomach.

At least Ambian seems to be less addictive than other sleeping aids I have

used through the years.

:My first daignosis was FM...before they decided I

had scleroderma/lupus....my rheumy keeps telling me

any time you have a chronic pain condition you usually

end up with fibro...I am sure that will will start a

discusion...girls???oops and guys???...anyway they had

me on about every tryciclit(Sp) you can think

of...elavil...pamelor...nortripiline...then they

started with

prozac....zoloft....desyrl....buspar....you name

it.....finally settled on paxil...the one thing I

found that did work for sleep was ambien....the only

thing is if you dont go to sleep right away it means

it wont work that night ...the good thing is you dont

wake up feeling like you have a hang over which is how

I felt after taking some of the others...I hope this

helps and I am sure there will be other answers...they

may help more....I will say if you can get the sleep

thing under control that will probably be a big

PS: Different drugs work differently for people

sometimes it takes awhile to get the right one.....
