HMO coverage of RA drugs

Does anyone have any ideas on effectively lobbying one's HMO or State

Legislature on how to get certain meds covered that aren't currently

covered? Case in point: My HMO (Group Health of WA State) won't cover

Celebrex as they say it doesn't work any better than Ibuprofen (to which I

and at least 1 other RA patient I know say BS!!) I count myself among the

lucky ones because my PCP is getting me gobs of Celebrex from her drug rep,

but I want to advocate on behalf of those not so lucky. I feel very strongly

that Celebrex is giving me my life back and I want others to be able to get

the drug from their HMO's w/out having to jump through hoops, because

clearly it works for some of us who have RA!!! Any suggestions on how I can

work the system to get this and other helpful, life- altering meds covered

by insurance?? W/out Celebrex I feel I wouldn't be able to put in the long

hours I've been able to in the last 6 weeks!! And I need to be able to

work!! (you know that ole self esteem issue and all...LOL!!
