Guest guest
Hi Stacey How are you? And how is Wyatt? I am still in one of my good times and making the most of it! A friend of ours, Sid, has just finished building a luxury trawler and I went on that yesterday. When I got to the edge of the quay where I had to climb onto the side of the boat and saw the drop on the inside I was afraid to get in, so Sid put a crate there for me to step on to. However, I was still scared as the muscles in my legs are so weak, so I went and had a cappuccino to think about it! In the end I climbed into the boat and did`nt go `splash` into the sea! I went on my hands and knees and found it better. As the day wore on I found that I could walk better which I am happy about. I am going to use some light dumbells to try to build up my muscles before the next flare comes. Also, I want Steve to come with me swimming. I am afraid to go on my own in case my muscles give out. I will use a kickboard at first and just use my legs. My doctor has given me Meloxicam (mobic) at 7.5 mg a day. I can`t say how good they are yet until I flare. But so far they have`nt upset my stomach. I get flare-up of IBS sometimes so as long as the drug does`nt make that worse I am happy! My doctor also sent me for blood tests for diabetis, which runs through my family, as does the RA, and I go for the results tomorrow. I do hope that I have`nt got it. I feel I have enough to cope with as it is.... My son, Nicky, has IBS and I am praying that he does`nt get the RA too. Well, I had better go and check eBay to see if I have won some lovely butterfly fabric that I bid on! I am learning Patchwork and I have a book which shows you how to do it on a machine, which is a must. I am also making myself some trousers (pants) from some butterfly fabric which will cheer me up! Take care Hugs Sue

I hope you don't have diabetes, but it seems easy to me compared to RA. At least you can have some control over it. Sue in NC
Guest guest
Hi Sue, Sorry it took me so long to reply. It sounds like your outing was really fun and exciting. I got a good mental picture of you on your knees trying to get onto that boat. LOL!!!! My rheumy highly reccommends swimming to keep the joints moving. I love to swim, but have trouble being in the sun thanks to all the meds. I have been having a rough time of it lately and hope to see that rainbow soon. I am really getting frustrated with the situation that I am in right now. I keep fighting though. I went out to cut the grass today on my rider and got 3/4 of it done. I have a rather big yard. When I came in the house, my feet were so swollen they looked like pillows, all puffy and round. My ankles looked worse. This was rather early in the day and I was only out there for about 45 minutes at the most and I took a break in the middle to go pee. Thanks Lasix!!!! Anyway I keep thinking that tomorrow will make a difference. Always tomorrow. My rheumy tested me for diabetes a while ago. I have a problem with my blood sugar dropping which is not common with people who take prednisone. But I tested neg for diabetes. They still don't know why my blood sugar drops though. Just one of those things, I guess. Those butterfly trousers sound wonderful. Sewing is one of the things that I have put on the back burner lately. I used to make all of my scrubs for work. It was great because of the fabulous fabric designs that are available. I had scrubs for every holiday and mood possible. We had a pediatrician in our office and the patterns relaxed the kids alot. Make a pair of trousers for me. I like penguins!!!! LOL Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
