Building 225 College Park Drive, Weatherford, TX 76086 The time to prepare students for transition from school to employment in the community is while the student is in school, not after graduation. Interagency collaboration is one of the keys to promoting a smooth transition to adult life in the community, including work, residence, and recreation for persons with significant disabilities. ph and Marilyn Henn will present their own personal testimony on effective transition strategies using " possibility thinking " to drive adult services for persons with disabilities and discuss how community work experiences can be used to improve behavior, explore career options, and obtain employment. Staff from Texas Health and Human Services Systems, Social Security Administration, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, MHMR, ARC of Tarrant County, Easter Seals, and Texas Parent to Parent will be invited to participate. Target Audience Parents, professionals, community agencies and student advocates are encouraged to attend. Registration There is no fee for this session, but registration is required.
