You know, its so so different now, than it was in 2005 when my boy was

diagnosed.

I am sure you have all noticed.

I predict in the next 18 -24 months, some major MAJOR shit is going to

hit the fan, re: vaccines, research, legal cases, etc.

Its almost like a metamorphosis is taking place, and many of us (them)

are waking up and realising this is not going away, our children are

not going to climb into or be pushed into a gutter, hidden away.

Its so exciting. I know i am full of a lot of doom and gloom (and other

things) but really, i am so glad its now, and not 10 years ago.

I see big things afoot. I am on a lot of american biomed lists and

people who used to be able to get away with ranting at parents who used

biomed, are not anymore. Parents are becoming so so clued in and

questioning.

its wonderful.

Hi how is it different now than in 2005? We are reading alot about

things on the news in the States ( on sites) but as far as what Joe

public knows and acknowledgement by the medical profession I don't

see any change. I am not being pessimistic it's just on a practical

level where is the change?

imo a real change can happen only if/when:

A) a study comes out, a large scale clinical trial that shows big and

lasting improvements in kids following a biomed treatment (my big hope

lies in two studies currently being done in the US, minocycline and mb12

shots) - trouble with this is that not all kids respond to all

treatments, so even though say 30% could improve dramatically it will be

statistically of low significance when averaged out by those that do not

respond... but still a hope.

B) dozens more cases get compensated by US vaccine court, the same way

as Hannah Poling, so her case stops being a 'one-off', extremely rare,

due to pre-existing genetic flaws etc

but even if both things happen it will still be much slower in this

country and generally outside US...

I think that there is now so much research homing in on fruitful areas

that they will get somewhere in the next five years and make positive

discoveries with clinical implications. The US scientists have thought

their way around this responders problem and the call for people to take

part in the minocycline trial gave quite a detailed description of the

type of autistic person they wanted. So better classification of autism

is leading to properly designed research which should bear fruit -- is

my view.

In that sense it is so different from 13 years ago when the only idea

out there was B6 (and that didn't work) and no one was even thinking

about it or looking apart from Bernie Rimland
