I know I'll only be stirring up controversy but here it goes...

Wow, I just got a message from e-speaks which is the Autism Speaks

electronic newsletter and saw Hendrix Reynolds' (president/founder of

Unlocking Autism, an organization which believes Thimerosal contributes to

autism and

very grass-roots) picture and saw her wearing an Autism Speaks lapel pin so

then I was curious, I clicked on the story link only to discover this quote

regarding the new autism insurance bill just signed into law in Louisiana:

" Thanks to this legislation, children with autism in our state will get the

services they need and deserve, while the long-term cost of their care to

society is dramatically reduced,†said Hendrix,

Autism Speaks National Director of State Advocacy and a Louisiana parent of

a son with autism. “This is a major victory for children with autism and

families who are sometimes forced to sacrifice everything they have in order to

pay for critical autism therapies.â€

I must say I'm surprised to find out she supports and represents AS. I would

be very interested to find out her position/take on AS and why she is

supporting the organization, anyone on the list know?
