Guest guest
sounds like you had alot of fun tess. i used to see paul revere and the raiders all the time at 6 flags in missouri. i have never seen the beatles or wings. i heard today paul is making his 2nd tour because of his big losses in the stock market. he lost 85 million. they said alot of english rockers. sting came in second with only 14 million. pretty sad the fans have to pay for his loss. i used to follow foghat and blue oyster cult!! those were strange times too!!! kathy in il
Guest guest
Dear Groovy Girl, I got several good chuckles out of your e-mail. I think that I was a little behind you. I was born in '54. I've seen Chicago 10 times because my husband loves them as he learned so much from their drummer when he was learning to play. I've seen Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young several times spanning 25 years, Clapton (my fave), Ringo Star, Wings, The Beach Boys, Deep Purple, Ten Years After, Led Zepplin, Gang, Janis Joplan, BB King, The Eagles, The Alman Brothers, Edgar Winters and White Trash, Black Sabbath, Kenny Loggins, Joe Croce, Seals and Croft all the way up to now - Collective Soul, Semisonic, Remy Zero, Flickerstick, and still want to see Creed and Nickleback. I remember making a Nehru jacket for my home ec project. I kept it for about 20 years before I threw it out. Of course, I've needed it several times and wish I hadn't. Would we want those days back again? No, I just want to start my second childhood. Keep on groovin. Guest guest
<<If we ever have an RA FAmily get-together I'll bring it!>> I hope we have one soon! I think that would be so great. Hugs, Carol [ ] Memory Lane Dear Iris...you have such a wonderful heart...thank you for trying to help that young fellow. They really out-price the common folk for tickets these days! My favorite Beatle's songs...Saw Her Standing There, Norwegian Wood, And I Love Her, I'll Be Back Again... Guess what??? When Lennon was killed, the Portland Oregonian did a big story of course, and included photos and pieces on their 1965 stop here. Guess whose picture was in the paper???? ME!!! There I was, in a daze, wearing my sailor shirt - popular in those days...my hands up in the air!!! I had NO idea there WAS a picture like that. Of course I cut it out, and keep it in my Bible!!!! If we ever have an RA FAmily get-together I'll bring it! My parents were very conservative, but they always encouraged my love of music. The first concert I ever saw was Bobby Dylan & Joan Baez when I was only 12. It was a strange & interesting time...the beatniks were hanging on but the hippies were coming in. I'm sure a lot of the political stuff went over my head! The last song they sang went... " Well, if you gotta go...well it's alright...but if you gotta go, go now...or else you gotta stay all night! " Oh yikes, I was SO embarrassed!!! I've seen Dave 5, Herman's Hermits, Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, , & , The Who, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Janis Ian, whoever the group was that originally sang " Gloria " , Revere & The Raiders, the oiginal Broadway cast of " Hair " . Others, too. I took my little sister who was 13, to the Rolling Stones on my 15th birthday. First embarrassing thing was I was all dressed up in a beautiful nehru shirt & white bell-bottoms when I fell down the steps at the colliseum...the security rushed over...I was fine...though red-faced! But what was worse was when Mick Jagger came on stage..I had my LITTLE sister with me, and we had GOOD, ClOSE seats, and let's just say I worse undies under my bell bottoms, Mick DID NOT!!!!! YIKES!!!! MY sis thought it was funny I was so embarrassed. Gee, Iris, thanks for helping me have a happy trip down Memory Lane. Many groovy hugs : ) Tess

Guest guest
Yes, the memories brought on by everyone talking about famous musicians they have seen over the years is great. As a teen, I travelled the busses to demonstrations for equal rights and have lots of memories of life in the south in the 50's and 60's I ended my travelling days with Woodstock and jKennedy's funeral, then joined the dreaded establishment by going to college. There were many side trips, as I ended up at 5 different colleges over 11 years to finish my bachelors degree. Lots of odd jobs and side trips...it is a memorable time...not all good; but overall I smile at the " old Marge " with lots of energy and willingness to take risks in various adventures. I hhiked or biked 8 states of the appalachian trail...doubt I will finish the trip...oh well...I' have finally learned...I can't do it all. I am sure those were the days I learned about doing what I can at the moment...and accepting what I cannot change. Going fishing now bruce Springsteen friends....what a different life! Guest guest
Our brains go about not remembering things which may later turn out to be really important, but frustrating to recall. I am trying to figure out better ways of accessing such memories and have been exploring questions such as: without looking at a diary what happened on a random day a few months ago. Other things are looking for lost items, trying to remember when I bought a particular item etc. My current hypothesis is that structured regression techniques ( " hypnosis " ) are more effective in recall than direct questioning. I am looking for other real world examples to try, which is why I am asking on the forums - other people tend to come up with ideas I would never have thought of. I am at the early stages, but from these initial tests I can develop a more rigorous methodology. On a personal note, I hope I can make my brain a bit more useful. > > > Hi group, I hope this isn't too far off topic.
