Guest guest
Hi all, I joined the group a while ago and with the encouragement of Olivia I decided to apply to SLC. I had obviously read all the posts about how great the staff and services at SLC are but I was not familiar with Shriners and didn't realize how there services worked. Anyway, our application was accepted (within a week of sending it) and our first appointment is at the end of November - the day before Thanksgiving. I was hoping some of you could give me an idea of what the first appointment usually entails. We're flying from California and I am planning on just being there for the day. I'm mostly wondering if the doctor decides to cast could the process be turned around fast enough that we should plan to stay longer. Best hotel in the area? Do you suggest renting a car or could we take cabs to get around? Any insight will be much appreciated! Our case: Violet was diagnosed with infantile scoliosis at 2 months old with a 31 degree thoracic curve as well as having Gibbous Deformity. We have had one x-ray since (just 8 weeks later) and it's still at 30*. Our current doctor has ZERO experience with infantile scoliosis. Thanks in advance, Janet
