Guest guest
Good Morning! I am hoping to add a little "ompf" to my kefir so make it more yummy to my 2 year old. Will I hurt the kefir by adding vanilla extract? Is that the best way to get vanilla kefir? Guest guest
I think that would work fine and not hurt the kefir. add it after you remove the kefir grains. > > Good Morning! > I am hoping to add a little " ompf " to my kefir so make it more yummy to my 2 year old. Guest guest
One way to get a lovely vanilla kefir is to add a piece of whole vanilla bean to the kefir after you have removed the grains. Just split a small piece with a knife and run the blade of the knife down the center of the bean to remove the flavorful seeds, and add the seeds AND the whole piece of bean to the kefir-I add a touch of agave nectar for a little sweetness. My daughter LOVES kefir prepared this way. Vanilla extract contains alcohol which is not necessary for good flavor. You can get the whole beans at most health food or whole food stores. I also store sugar in a mason jar with a piece of whole bean in it-it adds wonderful flavor and aroma to the sugar, and can be added to baked goods, coffee, etc. -NC > > > > Good Morning! > > I am hoping to add a little " ompf " to my kefir so make it more yummy to my 2 year old. > Will I hurt the kefir by adding vanilla extract?
