, thanks so much for the welcome and the links. I'll certainly read

them. I haven't asked my rheumy if my nodules were a result of methotrexate.

I told him that he had let me get deformed, and later he said, " I like the

way you put that, I have let you get deformed. "

Besides the nodules on my elbows and left foot, I definitely have two hard

knots on the top of each hand, so I don't know what they could be except

more nodules.

I thought that he would discontinue the MTX when he prescribed the Arava,

but he said he wouldn't dream of stopping the MTX. I started the Arava last

week. After two loading doses, I am taking 10 mg a day.

My liver has been fine on the MTX, but my last labs showed that my white

blood cell count was slightly low. I'm to have bloodwork done after two

weeks on the Arava and then call him again.

Hi Sue:

Hope that the Arava in conjunction with the Metho

helps you - I am also on that combination. I take 20

mg. of Arava daily and 15 mg. of Metho on Friday

night.

I had been on Plaquenil, then Plaquenil and Metho, and

now the Metho and Arava which seems to be working well

for me - although I would still love to try Embrel and

am on the waiting list for that elusive drug! Good

luck to you with Arava - just remember to get blood

work done faithfully.

LOL, Sue! I'm glad that both you and your doctor have a great sense of humor.

You just keep throwing the blame back on him that way and just maybe he will

keep on top of things for you.

I'll be curious to hear what he says about the MTX and nodules.

Good luck with the Arava and keep us posted.
