Dear Curious Tess, A slider is a little hamburger or

cheeseburger that is made like those little square

rolls. It has dried onion soup in the meat (at least

that is what my husband says). They are sold at a fast

food chain called White Castle. You can find them at

the grocery store here but they don't taste the same.

If you ever get as far as St.Louis you can find them

there. I have never heard of a slider snake but have

heard of a sidewinder. Don't know about you, but I

hate snakes.

P.S. My brother lives in Aberdeen, Washington and

from his description, I think that it is the kind of

place I want to live. If I ever drive up that way,

I'll pay you a visit, if it isn't too far away.

I always consider myself fortunate if I learn at least

one thing a day so curiosity is a great gift. Wishing

you a lifetime of curiosity. Iris

Almost anything can appear in this group...huh?? White Castle...I remember

as a teen ager living in Detroit...skipped school one day to cross the

bridge to Windsor to meet some friends. We stopped for a few bags of white

castles...went across the bridge for the day, when we got back to the

bridge....we found out we had used all of our money for white castles and

had to call our parents to come get us...lousy ending to a skip day from

school. They still are pretty great...but I agree the store frozen aren't

the same...nice memories..marge

Debs and Iris...gotta say this my south bronx born and

bred husband used to make fun of me all the time

because I had never been to White castle.....hey I

lived in New Hampshire where cows were in the

population count and going out to eat meant you went

to a friends for supper....anyway according to him you

hadnt lived until you had a White castle hamburger so

last year we went to the Bronx and on the way to his

mothers he had to stop....I was sick for a week....I

just couldnt believe he thought that they were the

next best thing to heaven...LOL Kathi in OK

Dear Marge - My husband definitely would agree that

getting sliders is worth skipping school for. Iris---

Dear Heidi, Thank you for this information. Is this

a book that is available at the Library or where do

you get it? I am really interested in finding out

what this is about. Thank you for your encouragement.
