Guest guest
Hello, Lena, and welcome to the group! What caused the loss of pigmentation in your arms? Is it vitiligo? I think you are talking about PUVA (Psoralen plus ultraviolet-A light) therapy, but I'm not sure. Here are some links on vitiligo and PUVA: http://www.aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/vitiligo.html http://info.med.yale.edu/dermatology/patients/vitiligo.pdf http://www.aad.org/pamphlets/Vitiligo.html http://www.dermnetnz.org/index.html [ ] Anyone hear of this?? > Hi All, > I heard sometime ago that there was something that could be done > for lost pigment in the skin. Guest guest
Hi , The loss of pigment was a result of the lupus. Both arms are spotty all the way to the shoulder. Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Did you have lupus lesions on your arms that resulted in depigmentation, Lena? What kind? Guest guest
Very interesting . I didn¹t know that vitiglio is considered an autoimmune disease. My daughter had a bout with vitiglio when she was around 10. The pediatrician said it was ringworm on her knees because it looked like red patch with a ring around it. He prescribed an anti-fungal cream. Her knees have lost the pigment where this so called ringworm was. I didn¹t know if it was really ringworm, if it was the cause of the vitiglio, or if the cream caused it. Years later, a dermatologist looked at it and said it was vitiglio. She also has psoriasis in her scalp. a > Hello, Lena, and welcome to the group! > > What caused the loss of pigmentation in your arms? Is it vitiligo? Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to be so long in replying, I have been away from the puter. Yes both arms have lesions. As to what kind of leasions I have no idea. The Lupus is the syetemic type. I had heard of the proceedure once but if I read it correctly it won't do me much good. I have been marked for about 28 years and the article says 15 years and older don't have much success. (at least I think that was what it said) Thats another of my wonderful traits, No memory and I mean none!!!
