Guest guest
Yes, it's very comforting! Thanks. I live outside of Phoenix, Arizona so Dr. Kishan is closest, I believe. Our Ortho. told us yesterday that he is very familiar with Mehta method casting and he's current pals with (and maybe he told us he was a partner of ) Dr. (in PA) at one time. 's curve is not pre-surgery level so we have all decided on the brace for a while. After all the research and feedback, right now I think it's best. Our Ortho. says we have time to do casting if necessary, but he will see in her brace for X-rays every 6 weeks. I think that is a frequent enough re-evaluation of the brace's efficiency and we feel comfortable knowing he's a proponent of Mehta casting. We really appreciate all your help, feedback and support. Karns > ~ My son was casted by Dr Kishan in Loma this past August and November. We really like him and trust him 100% and the staff at Loma University is amazing. Landon's curve was 25 degrees and he was lucky enough to get down to zero in his 2nd cast. We just saw Dr Kishan last month and Landon is holding at zero in his brace. We go back for an out of brace X-ray the end of May. Let me know if I can help you with anything. Good luck. > > Tammy > > Mommy to Landon, 18 months > ~ 25 degree curve w/ an RVAD of 24 > ~ 12 degrees in 1st cast with an RVAD of 2 (8/28/07) > ~ ZERO in 2nd cast (11/20/07) > ~ decompression surgery for Chiari Malformation done at UCLA on 2/1/08 > ~ currently holding at Zero in his brace...
