My little sister, age 34 called me the other day to ask what kind of doctor I

saw for my RA. She's having symptoms too! Now I'm worried about her cause she

has " loose " joints and has already had 2 knee surgeries and a rotary cuff

surgery 3 years ago. All the surgeries were due to injuries. She said that her

hip has been hurting her for a long time, has morning stiffness, fatigue, and

feeling like she's coming down with something. She says her hip will pop in and

out when she walks. Mine only gives a loud pop when I've been in one position

for a while. Anyway, she said she called or Orthopedic surgeon and he wants to

see her on the 14th. He's going to run some tests and x-rays and if any

arthritis shows up, he's going to send her to a Rheumy. I'm glad she's called

her Ortho, cause he knows her history. I really hoped no one else in my family

would get this damn disease. It's prevalent in my family, but I don't wish this

on anyone else. Rats!!!

I'm very sorry to hear that, Debbie. I hope that your little sister is

going to be OK. She already has quite a colorful medical history for 34.

I know you must be terribly worried. I hope it's not RA for her, too.

Debbie Mc,

I echo 's sentiments. I sure hope its not RA.

I was devastated when my daughter ( Kristi @ age 20 ) was diagnosed. I wanted

to cry my eyes out..So young and cheated out of her very best years.

I would take RA double-fold if it would keep any of my immediate family members

from getting this horrible disease...ESPECIALLY my children.

My prayers are on her behalf for a good report.

Dear Debbie....I hope your sis doesn't have RA either. I have a

" little " sister whom I feel very protective of as well. My family, both

sides, is full of these illnesses. I will surely keep your sis, and

you, in my heart & in my prayers.

Much Love...

Tess

Sorry to hear about your sister Debbie. My sister also had some problems

about a year ago. Her tests showed a positive RA factor and other supporting

values, but she is relatively asymptomatic. I expressed to her the

importance of early intervention and told her of the pain and frustration of

being treated later rather than right away. Oh well, she doesn't listen and

" she won't get like that. " I did my part and now it is up to her. I hate to

see anyone go through this unneccessarily, but I cannot force medical

treatment on her. I hope for the best for your sister and for you.

Love and Hugs
