Guest guest
Marty As much as you are my friend, if you think that I am fighting with a piranha for his teeth just you can chew on a nice piece of cod - I don't think so I value my fingers too much. Guest guest
Hi Joan Where in the UK are you? I am in andria in Scotland and I don't know any one up here with stills. I also wanted to say to the person with dental pain after tooth extraction(sorry I can't remember who posted and i've deleted them all now) you may have an infected socket you should rinse with hot salty water 3-4 times daily for 5 days, if it's not any better then you might need an antibiotic. An infected socket can be even more painful than the toothache was so don't suffer it. Terry (andria)

I thought it was a dried socket too, I've had those before, but it feels more like some skin/gums nearby got torn - it's more the outside of the area that hurts. But the salt water might help that - my HBP should love that! It was my jaw and glands under the jawbone that hurt badly too, but Al said the dentist was pulling like crazy to pull out the whole tooth in one piece (he watched) and that's feeling better. Took less painpills yesterday so that's a good sign. Carole in Hollywood FL **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today. Guest guest
Hi Terry We live in Surrey, we usually tell people that it is near to Epsom race course as most people seem to know or have heard of it. Do you mind if I ask you whether you have difficulty in getting the medication you need where you live. I have got to the stage that steroids and MTX are not working and my Rheum. wants to try me on Humira but before I can have it I have to have so many points i.e. how many swollen joints you have and you have to have tried certain other drugs first, then it has to go before a panel who will decide if you are eligible or not. Also just today I read in the paper that if you try one of these drugs and it does not work, then you are not allowed to try any of the similar types. It will probably be about 4 weeks before I will know if I can try Humira or not - it is worse than waiting for examination results at least with those you pass or fail on your own merit. Hope that you are having a good today not too much pain Best wishes Joan U.K.
Guest guest
Hi Joan Yes my consultant did mention that you have to have tried all the " normal " meds before they put you on the heavy duty stuff and even then then they have to take your case to the health board and get permission as it's so expensive I've not heard of Humira, my guy spoke to me about anti tnf's... least I think thats what they were called but I am not an ideal candidate because of my age as it really knackers your liver so they don't like giving it to someone who then might need a liver transplant in 10-15 years time. A friend of mine who has Renauds is getting a drug every month thats costing the healthboard £12,000 a month but it's working so they are not allowed to withdraw it. Take care Terry (andria)
Guest guest
Hi Terry Thanks for your E-mail. I have been given permission to have Humira, but I have to go and have a chest X.ray and make sure that is O.K. Then hopefully I can give it a try, I must admit I am a bit scared of the consequences, but then I might get a pleasant surprise. Also what I find strange is that apparently if you try Humira or whichever one you are prescribed. If it doesn't work, you are then not allowed to try any of the other TNF's which I think is daft as you would be stopping one and starting another it wouldn't cost any more, but those are the rules so I will have to hope that the Consultant has chosen the right one because I don't know what will happen if it is not the right one as steroids and MTX even with increased dose have stopped doing their job and my rheumy. wants me off prednisilone a.s.a.p. Anyway I am being allowed to try it so I must be grateful. Hope you have had a good day Take care, Best wishes Joan U.K.
