Guest guest
Hi Sondra, Not sure when Debi will be back online, but the procedure is called endometrial (or uterine) ablation. The procedure utilizes various means to destroy the uterine lining, or endometrium. It can be done using a laser beam, radio frequencies, saline-filled heated balloons, electrodes, freezing or microwaves. The lining then heals by scarring and this scar tissue reduces or prevents bleeding during menstruation. > there was of words here on a procedure that is of for females of the > uterine but forget of the words of it but this day my medical > shared he > wanted to do this option for me and once he shared of its name to > me it > caused me to have of memory of here on this same things. abilations > things? he to say to me it is of advancing and is of more safe and > such > than doing of a hystorectomy due to the many female issues i to have. > > He to also shared he felt i to had of a yeast issues and also fungus > issues, because of the need to wear of pads so much it builded of > moisture in a bad way which allowed of fungus to be of to develop > there > and thus the reason for so much itching there. so now have of to take > of medicine to get rid of that. > > but on the abilation things did any have of it done and how painful > was > of it, he wants of to put me in to the outpatient to have of it > done in > a facility due to the my multiple health issues and sedate of me to do > it so to minimize of the painful issues it might cause of me. but was > of wondering if any had of it and how long you were of to hurt > afterwards? > sondra > >

Guest guest
Sondra I had very heavy bleeding and would bleed probably 3 weeks out of the month. Every once in awhile I will have a heavy period, but for the most part it is tolerable. Not sure it did much for my cramps, as there are times that they still feel like labor pains. At least it is not every month that it's that extreme pain. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year that they get that bad. The procedure made things tolerable. As far as PMS, I think it's a little better. Although Gutterboy might say otherwise. LOL Pennie Abby's Mom **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
> cathy then one question is of then will I to be of still have of > issues > to hormones and issues to ovulations and such but no monthlies > anymore? That's correct. This will not affect your hormones, since you will still have your ovaries. The only difference is that you will no longer have a lining (endometrium) in your uterus that gets thicker and is shed each month. > > but was of wondering if will be of much pains afterwards There can be considerable pain afterwards, yes, but it usually only lasts a few days. A hysterectomy recovery would be much worse. You may also get some cramping and vaginal discharge for several days afterwards. You may also have bleeding for some time. Some women run a mild fever and have nausea or vomiting. Again, these are just temporary after the procedure. > the other things too will i to still be of to have of pains monthly > but > no monthly ? You may stop bleeding entirely (about 40-60% of the time) or you may also continue to have periods but they will be much lighter. A lot depends on if any of the endometrial tissues grows back. You will still have pain, breast tenderness and PMS type symptoms if you had them before, because he hormones remain the same. > He to asked of me much questions on pregnancy and birth and > desire to have of more kids.... not sure why he to wanted to know of > that He needed to ask you this because pregnancy after ablation is extremely unlikely and can also be very risky. A woman should only have ablation if she does not want any more children. In this sense it should be treated as if you were having a hysterectomy. Guest guest
Pennie can you tell of me what was of different after it was of done in compare to when it was not of done? and the pains were of they more than the normal monthly cramps for that week. like did of it hurt to sit or walk or just was of it crampy sorts of pains. wanting to learn much on this so that can be okay with this having it done? was there any preparations you had of to do before of the procedure such as with lower scope you ahve of to drink all this yucky stuff and so hope not to have of that done. but they need of to do a biopsy much high up and he shared that might be of much painful for me since it was of much hard for me to have of fibroids and polpys removed last time was in. he shared he needs to do more than just the first layer but has of to go into the female body part and go some deeper to the tissues to get of a full biopsy before to do the procedure so this is of the only things i to know of so far of it. this will be of done next tuesday too. also that same tuesday my aimee goes for her first ultra sound on her new pregnacy so will know of more on the actual due date then of this baby. I to be ofhoping it will be of a boy baby so that she can be of done to having babies. she tells of me if it is of a boy one she is of done and wants of to have of tubes ties off after the baby is of born. she is of eating like a piggy girl already and is of showing like she is of 3-4 months instead of just two months. I to not wanted to be of a nana again because it will be of a huge change and the one is of all my health and brain can tolerate for now. the husband of her is of hyper reactive to so many things and has of much skin issues. he is of like allergic to so many fragrences and dyes and things. so i to worry on the babys over all outcomes because of the family of him is of strong to push vaccines and is of angry to Aimee for not having Delaney up to date on them.... so this will be of a huge battle between both families on things. sondra

Guest guest
Pennie, were you among the first women getting the procedure? My doc said there was an initial procedure that was not very effective. He says he has created a new technique that is more effective. What the names or details of those are, I don't recall. I have a friend who was among the first here to have it done, she had little success. Debi
