I know that I am responding to this e-mail a little late but I just thought I

would tell you what my Ferritin level was when I was diagnosed.

I, too, had a very high Ferritin level. You aren't going to believe

this...70,000. The Dr.'s said I would go down in the medical journals because of

how sever my case was. I also had a temp. of 107.9, with no brain damage. (I

don't think, LOL)

Has anyone else had a Ferritin level this high or a fever this high?

Keri, I do know my fever spikes were just over 105 at times and for a time

did kill brain cells. I wouldn't have known what a Ferritan level was to

save my life though as I was so young and my doctor worried about such

things. He did tell me at one point I was the sickest patient he had ever

treated. Hope this helps anyone. I pulled through although it took a few

years and do amazingly well today with the Stills being in remission and

just residual joint damage. There is hope so for many, please never give up.

Hi Keri,

Gosh, I have never heard of anyone with IF that high. And the doctor

thought mine was high at 25,000. The highest fever I have had was 103

(unless it was higher and I was alone and didn't know to test it).

The first time in the hospital, I stayed two months. I went home and

after one week, I had to go back in for another month. I couldn't

take care of myself. At the beginning, I was becoming delirious.

Living alone, I was having nightmares and doing strange things like

feeling like I was a prisoner in my own bed. I, too, had to change

sheets and PJs several times a night. When I started fainting and

vomiting everything I ate, I know I had to go back in the hospital.

If you went through such highs, you are extremely strong! Now you

know what you can withstand. When were you this ill? I hope you are

better. (Sorry if you have already explained that...I have been

running around today doing a hundred things.).

Regards,

Charlotte - Dallas

I am also very late on this but my ferratin levels were about 30,000 and i

regulary had temps of about 104-105 for about 30 days, I don't think I had any

brain damage but i did a lot of funny things  and my motor skills were pretty

much shot!
