Guest guest
It's an interesting discussion on vaccinations, that's for sure. There is a similar one going on on one of my other boards it's its pretty fascinating. A lot of women had an issue show up after Hep B vaccinations. The way I like to explain is that a vaccination, or illness, or environmental toxin, or..., woke up the illness inside. AI diseases are diseases of the genes. We are born with the pre- disposition to this or that. The genes may stay latent for many, many years and then something happens inside our body to wake the gene up to bring on a lovely disease (or in my case, 3 AI diseases so far). There is definitely enough quantifiable research out there at this point to say that some vaccinations absolutely do cause a waking up of the genes in many people. But it's not something you can know ahead of time and when you get the vaccine you, or your parent, are making the most educated decision you can at the time to protect yourself. In myself, I do believe there is a correlation between the Hep B vaccine and my Stills waking up and visiting. But again, Stills could have come knocking at my door because the pneumonia I got while living in a foreign country affected that gene. Who knows. Sadly, we will really won't know. Maybe, like Kirk said, once there is enough data gathered. I suppose on a whole, vaccines are still seen as benefitting the greater good more than the amount of people who may have an adverse reaction. Unfortunately I just don't think they know too much about those people. BTW...some of the CDC literature states a potential contridication for people with MS and RA and the Hep B vaccine. But they still maintain that there is no quantifiable evidence that Hep B causes chronic illnesses. Houston
