It was a wonderful game between the Packer's and the other team - is there an other team???? I really enjoyed the game, glad it was on and gave me a bit of time where I wasn't totally thinking about the pain I was feeling. Pleasant dream Ellen, Lila Tov! Guest guest
Well, his Packers won easily...now when my Cowboys win tomorrow.....than we'll get together again next week for the rivalry game..... Hope you feel better!!!!! I have a recliner with heat & massage that helps at times....you should look into one, insurance sometimes even covers them! They sell them at medical supply stores, and they'll let you sit in them & play with them to see if you like them. I'm serious...they are priceless when needed, and just plain nice when you just want to relax!!! I'm jumping in bed right after I send this but have a question for you......and don't answer if you don't want to..... How the hell do you still work???? To be honest, I do some things from time to time but I am so unreliable I could never hold a job. Sometimes I make a nice buck or two, but it all depends on my body, which refuses to cooperate. I'd love to be able to count on myself again as I loved work and loved the money that came with it...life was no picnic then either, but I didn't have to worry about where my next few bucks were coming from. My main regret is that I never had disability insurance!!! Than again, as a self employed person.....I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway. Guest guest
Ellen, Looks like the night shift is going (LOL). I am up too. Just a thought - do not know if it will help or not - but I have found that sometimes when my lungs are acting up it helps me to sleep in a recliner. I also keep an electric blanket handy in case of chills, or aches and pains - a heating pad just does not cover enough area anymore. I think I will try to rest a spell - but might be up later. Guest guest
I forgot to add, 2 of my all time favorite players were Bears....Mike Singletary & Brad Muster. Most people don't understand the Brad Muster part, but I love hard nosed bull-dozer style running backs. Ashamed as I am to admit it, outside of Emmitt my favorite running back was a (ACK) Redskin! I can't help it, but for as bad as I hated him against the Cowboys, Riggins was my kind of guy! Guest guest
Oh my goodness! I went back to sleep for a little while, I had 24 emails (that was about midnight). I finally hauled my butt out of bed, took my shower, made the coffee (cinnamon if anyone wants) and sat at my computer where there were 55 emails waiting for me, most of which had the same subject line. Are we all up because of pain or because we just don't sleep well? Take care and be well. Ellen
Guest guest
Thanks , I appreciate the input. You're not the first person to tell me about the recliner, either so maybe I should look into this. My Dad has one that helps him stand up. As for the heating blanket, I have two dogs that sleep in the bed with us (50 lbs each), that's heating blanket enough for me. Oh, you mean for the recliner? Duh! Forgive me, it's early yet. Again, thanks for the suggestions. I should look into it this week. Take care and be well. Ellen

Guest guest
Pain is my largest contributor by far. Although for some unknown reason I can sleep quite well from about 7:00 AM thru 1:00 PM. I can't do that on most days but when I can I take advantage of it. What really kills me are 1) headaches that just have unreal staying power, upwards of 28 days (record to date) and more recently severe joint pain if I lie still (sleep) at night. I'll awake to such horrible pain in so many joints that it is indescribable, yet my SED rate is down this week! Go figure...my body tends to feel the opposite of what the bloodwork says it should! Back to bed...I hope! Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > Oh my goodness! I went back to sleep for a little while, I had 24 > emails (that was about midnight). But we didn't move to Chicago either We did move to be closer to family - so it's the same situation in reverse Our house in Seattle is for sale. We put it on the market right before thanksgiving, not really expecting it to sell until after the holidays. So now we have two houses. One that is very affordable, and the funny part is the affordable one in TN where we moved to is bigger than the one in Seattle We have a pool and an acre and a half. Our other house, is awesome (in Seattle) - large by most standards, large deck, surrounded by greenbelt and has a swimspa and regular spa so it should sell quickly now (we hope).. It's not fun having two mortgages. Anyway, back to your dilema and off of mine... Should you move - will the weather be a problem. All I can say is that where we were, which was on Bainbridge Island, which is west of Seattle, I had a very hard time in the winters. And every year it got harder. Meaning that I'd start to get sick earlier each year. We decided to move this past fall when I started to get sick in late Sept. The past few years, I basically spent my winters in bed. And that meant up to 7 months or more. I think it was because of the constant rain and weather fronts that moved in. The previous year, I had to have a surgery in my ear for a cholestatoma cyst and a ruptured ear drum, which is common with stills (I found that out later), It set me off into a year long flare that was very hard to get out of. Now, Oregon is different though, which is why I asked where. It has a lot of different micro-climate areas. So you need to study the weather for the area that they live in. Portland, for instance gets warmer than Seattle every summer. Medford Oregon and Ashland OR, are places that we actually thought of buying summer homes in because they are so nice and warm in the summer - and hardly any rain. I'm not sure what the winters are like in those places. As far as jobs, I don't think you need to worry - the northwest as always been a great place to get jobs. I'd suggest getting a paper delivered to you (Sunday papers) for a Month if you are serious.. It may help you decide. It's hard being away family - I can relate - that is what made us move after twenty years of being in Seattle. I think that the cold of Chicago might not be any worse than the rain of the Northwest though. You get a lot of storms there, which are pretty much the same fronts that hit Seattle. And there is nothing like having your family around. Good Luck with your decision - and by the way - your still young - don't let age get in the way of your decision... You need to let your heart make your decision. Just talk to your daughter and make sure that if you move that they are planning on staying there. Take care, -- Re: Hey there Kirk - I'm up too I'm so glad you had a chance to visit with friends Kirk. And about the beer, I won't tell. Once in a great while you just need something! I'm up because of pain as well and I have to head back to bed in a moment. I have to work in the morning and need to attempt getting rest. I just took another ibuprofen 800 in hopes it will help but we all know the drill. I'm also going to try sleeping while sitting up. I have one of those pillows my mother calls a husband (not the one I married) so wish me luck. Was it a good game? Take care and be well. Guest guest
Hi Carole: I'm glad you're feeling better honey. I was worried about you. I've found muscle relaxers useless so I'm glad they work for you. Did you actually sleep through the night? I don't remember what that's like, was it wonderful? Take care and be well. Guest guest
Hi Diane, Well, where in Oregon do they live? Hi , ? They live in Portland.? Beautiful area, the pacific northwest. We like to go there, not just to see our kids, but to see the Mountains (Hood,? Rainier, St. Helen's) and to go to the coast ....Canon Beach is my FAVORITE area. We just left the pacific northwest because the weather was so bad for me. But we didn't move to Chicago either We did move to be closer to family - so it's the same situation in reverse Our house in Seattle is for sale. We put it on the market right before thanksgiving, not really expecting it to sell until after the holidays. So now we have two houses. One that is very affordable, and the funny part is the affordable one in TN where we moved to is bigger than the one in Seattle ???????? I understand...location? location? location...My kids bought houses in Portland and I am sure for what they paid for them they could get bigger houses elsewhere... Oh well...? We have a pool and an acre and a half. All I can say is that where we were, which was on Bainbridge Island, which is west of Seattle, I had a very hard time in the winters. That is what I am also afraid of...do I go from COLD in Chicago to cold/wet in the Portland area??? And every year it got harder. Meaning that I'd start to get sick earlier each year. I think it was because of the constant rain and weather fronts that moved in. The previous year, I had to have a surgery in my ear for a cholestatoma cyst and a ruptured ear drum, how does that happen??? what are the symptoms?? My ear is itching for awhile (a few months) which is common with stills (I found that out later), It set me off into a year long flare that was very hard to get out of.
