Guest guest
Hi Kirk, This is very upsetting to me b/c I frequent Starbucks... Is there a way to make sure that this is true and not an exaggeration before I give up my chai tea? Thank you Kirk Bonanny wrote: *Guess I won't be drinking Starbucks anymore! ! ! * Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't me an we do n't s upport the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house. If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more. Guest guest
, Go to www.snopes.com and check any and all stories. I always do before I send things on. I'm going to check it now but my internet is running very slow this morning, it's going to take a little while to load. Good luck with this story. Take care and be well. Guest guest
Go to Snopes.com...then enter Starbucks in the search. I think it is also one of the most searched topics right now. The story is not entirely true. They don't give donations, but they do support our troops. It'll explain it all. in TX Re: Screw Starbucks To: Stillsdisease > Hi Kirk, > This is very upsetting to me b/c I frequent Starbucks... > Is there a way to make sure that this is true and not an > exaggeration before I give up my chai tea? > > Thank you > > > Kirk Bonanny wrote: > *Guess I won't be drinking Starbucks anymore! ! ! * > > Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to > let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request > that they > send some of it to the troops there. Guest guest
Kirk, No need to apologize. Just about everyone gets these at one time or another often from someone they trust. I don't k now how many times people in my family have sent them to me. People often believe what they read on the Internet and thus it spreads like wildfire. At some point we all had to learn. I mainly pick up on them as I do emails all day for a living. That is, I do tech support so I also get all the scam emails of all sorts. And I will admit that I have fallen for these myself in the past though it was a long, long time ago.
