Nikki,

This was always my ? about EpiCor, when I looked at ingredients it just appeared to be a suped up Brewer's yeast. Brewer's yeast is a wonderful product but very inexpensive. Perhaps Anita can shed some light here.

The best I can offer is to read the research at http://vrp.com/

Schauss, who is Mark's brother for those of you who read at AM,

conducted the research and it is very strong. I don't know enough

about anything to decide if Epicor (as sold by VRP) is the same as

brewer's yeast. I do know that even if I am paying a great deal for

brewer's yeast, it is more than worth it. When DH takes it, he has

an immune system. It helps my kids a great deal too. I am

particularily keen on the increased activity of secretory IgA, which

I think (in my non-scientific way) is for many kids the beginning of

the awful snowball effect of their weak immune systems.

Anyway, the research is interesting, but I don't have time to reread

it now to see if there is a specific answer to the question. For my

part, I simply decided that the product worked and I was willing to

pay for that, esp in light of my vast ignorance which would prevent

me from figuring out if there was a cheaper alternative.
