Hi Kathy...outdoor concerts, especially on summer nights after it cools

are so great.

The last outdoor concert I saw was Tricia Yearwood. My best friend,

Trina, who took me on the road trip for my birthday, was a member of her

fan club. This was in 97, I think. Here I go, another story to tell!

Anyway, Trina got 2 backstage passes. She was in HEAVEN. I wasn't so

thrilled, but ok. Anyway, it started at 7 and it was HOT, in July or

August. Trina has severe asthma and is heavy, I'm Miss

Whatever-Autoimmune, and heavy. Seating is on the grass. YIKES.

Anyway, they announce that those who have VIP passes to come to a

certain area at the side of the stage. There we are, dripping buckets

of sweat. There were only 10 or 12 of us. We get escorted to a

trailer...and got to stand under an awning in the shade. A gal comes out

and says Tricia will be out shortly. I though Trina was going to expire

on me! Out walks Tricia...absolutely as down home and sweet and pretty

as she can be. She goes straight over to a little girl, maybe about 8

yers old, and hugs her and picks her up. Trina pushed me to be in front

of her (Trina - eek not the sweet little 8 yr. old girl) cause Trina was

wheezing up a storm. So it's my turn and Tricia hugs me, and I proceed

to tell her my friend just about risked her life in the heat from an

asthma attack to see her. (Trina later about killed me for saying that.)

Well, I thought it was important for Tricia to know. She hugged on

drippy, sweaty Trina and Trina just about fainted!!! Then they asked

if Trina would like her picture taken with Trina and she said Of Course!

Then they asked me and I said No, thanks. They looked at me like I was

from Mars. I thought, yikes, I hope they don't think I'm rude!!!!

Tricia then talked to our whole group for about 10-15 minutes. She was

just a sweetheart.

We went out and plopped on the grass, hoping there were cranes to help

us up (just kidding). The concert was great, though I'd never been into

her music. Her sweetness really impressed me. And Trina has her

wonderful Tricia & Trina photo!!!
