Carole,

The prednisone is making me ''pigwoman'' then because I can't stop

eating!  A few weeks ago I had cravings real bad for fruit!!  I would/could

eat all day like you said!  I bought a little watermelon and started cutting it

up and putting it in little tupperwares...well, heck with the tupperware..I

started eating the watermelon (granted it was a small seedless one)..but I

laughed saying  ''I can't believe I ate a whole watermelon''...Today I started

feeling bloated and more back pain. I hate this!!

this and that, but hopefully a happy and healthy 2008

Hello everyone.....

Haven't been around too much lately. My cable went out for 3 days -

absolutely awful. How in the world does one live without cable connections

these days

- especially cuz that's my internet connection. And ebay was super busy this

year, thank goodness - and our debt isn't as bad as its been so that is

definitely a good thing. If we could only catch up on our rent, that would be

wonderful. We're about 6 weeks behind, but they have been unbelievable - we are

so grateful.

Food/diet... some talk about that on the loop this week I see. Diane, you

mention that it couldn't be the prednisone making you gain weight, it's the

stuff you eat. Well, if you were not on the prednisone, you wouldn't WANT to

eat

so much. I believe that with every ounce I am and believe me I am a lot of

ounces! I always hate when I've had to increase my steroids, but I feel

insatiable when I do, I could eat all day long then. I've begun watching my food

since the new year and saw a nutritionist today. I just cannot stand my body

making it so I can't have fun anymore. Even when I feel better, I can no longer

walk far or do things cuz I carry so many extra pounds. I could stand to lose

about 200 pounds, but for now I'm looking at 10 pounds before I see the

nutritionist next time.

It was a very quiet holiday season here. I felt a tad more achey than I

have been in the past - don't know what's up with that.

I have been having some incredible leg cramps this week. I was cramping in 4

or 5 different places the other night and they would not go away. Took

quinine which normally gets rid of them immediately and it didn't help. Finally

took a valium and that relaxed me and the cramps went away, but I was crying it

hurt so badly.

Al thinks he has diverculosis, his mother and brother both had it and he

says he has the same symptoms - he's been really sick this past month or so.

Since I do the cooking, menu's are going to be quite a bit more challenging,

that's for sure.

I hope everyone had good holidays and wish good health for you all in 2008.

(anyone one consistetn Narcotics can appreciate that. Too bad we only can

buy H2O melon here a few months of the year. A big one might last 8 hours in

this house! And I aib;y the only one chowing down on them.
