Back with cast #3 for Keira

We just got back from SLC last night. Keira is in cast #3. This time

we brought our older daughter, Meghan who is 8, and she was actually a

comfort for Keira. Keira loves being with her big sister. Brody and

his family were also there, so all the kids got to play together and

that helped the time go by.

Keira knows the routine now and is really starting to 'fight'. As one

surgeon said, 'she is full of spit and vinegar', but he said that is a

good thing for her!

Her main curve is measuring at 48*, down from 53* in cast #2, but cast

#1 was 43*. But her upper and lower curves improved and her rotation

has improved. Her body shape looks great and that is what we were

hoping for!

We are going to try one more cast after this one, but then the surgeon

suggested that we go to a brace for the summer to give Keira a break

and see how she does.
