Guest guest
VIVI, Oh but there is something good about the methotrexate!!! Not only did it thin my hair out so much that I have more hair on my arm than on my head..it forced me to get a wig... and do you really know how nice it is to get up in the morning..put on a little makeup and flip a wig on and not worry that your hair looks like crap all day!! It takes all of 2 minutes to put it on and put a few bobby pins in it to keep it on ...lol... and that is it for the rest of the day! I try to look at the positive aspects of things when they go wrong...like making lemonade when you have lemons.. The methotrexate did make me feel a bit nauseas at first but then my husband felt bad for me and guess who made breakfast or took me out... Now I don't get sick from it anymore..just the thin hair...maybe in 6 months I will go and get another wig for a different style.. Diane..42  I'm scared to start the MXT. (pills) I haven't seen any thing good about it!! .
Guest guest
Diane and Vivi, Not only did my hair grow back after the first year, it grew back thicker and more curly. FREE PERM!!! I'm taking almost triple the dose of MTX that I started with when my hair really fell out, but these days I just lose a bunch for a day or so. Don't really notice with the new thick curly hair though. I have to use heavy duty conditioner or I start to look like that boxing promoter... what's his name? Don King! Vivi, I was scared to start MTX too but got a lot of relief from it. When I look back now, I wish I had started it sooner (I waited four or five months). in Maine > Now I don't get sick from it anymore..just the thin hair...maybe in 6 months I will go and get another wig for a different style.. > > > Diane..42 > > >
