Guest guest
Liz...is your leg swollen at all? Diane..42 I thought..well this pain in my leg is sciactica The neurologist thought it could have been shingles with no rash, then they were thinking it was sciatica well, I thought I noticed when the burn happened or hurt, that the area of the skin would be warmer than other areas of my leg. I noticed it again this AM. My calf was warm to touch. I asked my daughter to feel both calves, then tell me if she thought one was warmer. She said yes, right here is warmer. Well that's the area that hurts. So I googled it....and it seems that...it might be shingles with out the rash...or...maybe I had a small rash earlier, and this is that post herpetic neuralgia. Maybe scitica dies that too. I will ask my doctor. Good morning my buddies...I am sending you all your favorite hot morning drink by cyber waves...here it comes...Enjoy Love Liz **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
FYI - I had horrible pain on my face for a year and then I got the shingles rash - so It may be shingles... With how are bodies are so out of whack - you just don't know - the doctors were so surprised that I got shingles a year after I had been complaining of this horrible burning pain on just one side of my face. I did find that warm compresses helped and that cold absolutely sent me through the roof... Hang in there. -- sciatica or shingles..skin temperature I thought..well this pain in my leg is sciactica The neurologist thought it could have been shingles with no rash, then they were thinking it was sciatica well, I thought I noticed when the burn happened or hurt, that the area of the skin would be warmer than other areas of my leg. Guest guest
You might also consider Morphea - thickening of the skin (painfull swollen skin usually on legs or arms)I occasionally get it on one leg (always the same area) not neccessarily associated with Stills, but it could be!!!! Guest guest
I know I'm jumping in the conversation kind of late but my Rhuematologist said it was the fibromyalgia that goes along with still's. He told me that the burning, heat and redness would come and go. Mine is usually down my shins not my calves. It has been various other places now and then. , DFW area, TX > > > Strange...for now it went away..I mean it still hurts nut nothing > there...what a weird body I have I have to go to a doctor for every part. > Todays > doctor kept me waiting 2 hours.. > > Along with sciatica I have constipation and I was never ever ever > constipated before..I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago...will go back to the > gastro > person...no new meds to do it either..I feel like everything is stopped... > > Strange been to rheumy..neurologist dermatologist gynocologist, eye doctor > > and now gastro...just falling apart at age 51 joy > > Hugs > Liz > > **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Mike, You need to get the body butter for dry skin from the Body shop. You can get it only - get the larger size. It comes in a nut sent.. (like almond, or something like that, but you have to get the dry skin one). It does wonders to help reduce that dry, itchy sensation caused by stills and fibro. I was shocked the difference it made for me since it is non prescription. But it has to be the body butter and it has to be the dry skin formula... http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/browse/product_detail.jsp jsessionid=61zbOKzg83etCPelouQk+g** bsprd-app-101-bssfolapp04?productId=prod4010024 & categoryId=search To search for other ones, in the search field, enter body butter dry skin, and it will find all of the ones that will help you. I'd be really surprised if this stuff didn't help you if you put it on every night. -- Re: sciatica or shingles..skin temperature I am also a lte jumper, For me it is also my shins, get so dry and itchy I scratch them to almost bleeding especially when I sleep, I have tried just about everything non - prescription.
