Guest guest
Hello everyone. Well, we are back on-line and a lot has happened since we lost touch. BTW--I didn't realize how much I had come to count on the internet! I've felt very cut off. Mark started Remicade 2 weeks ago and he is doing AWESOME!!!!! I just cannot believe the difference. He is going back to work this week (Wed and Fri). Then, 3 days next week and then we will see his RD on the 13th. Hopefully, he will be able to start reducing his pred (he is currently holding at 17.5). And, he really wants to get off MTX, too. He took the kids sledding...yes, sledding! Now, it was a very small, short hill, but...hey!...this was a guy who couldn't walk to the bus stop (which is at our house) without his wheelchair just a few short months ago! On a side note, family stuff... Our 3 year old had his tonsils and adenoids out on Wed. He spent the night at Mott (UM) and is doing really well (except he does not want to take his medicine). He was, however, a Popsicle Machine at the hospital! Our 6 year old will have hers out in 2 weeks. She will be outpatient, though, because of her age. Our 1 year old goes in to see the ENT in March to decide if he needs his out as well. Long story short re: strep throat...the entire family had it in August. Mark came down with Stills at the end of his course of antibiotics, everyone (except me, but I had my tonsils out when I was 19) has had multiple bouts of strep ever since even the baby (and that is abnormal from what they have told me). I soak toothbrushes in hydrogen peroxide, I clean, we wash hands, etc. I don't know what else to do. All of our kids' tonsils are extraordinarily huge! So, the doc says they just harbor the bacteria. Not to mention the sleep apnea part of it...boy, do my kids have a ton of symptons. I am really hoping that these surgeries will make a difference. I do feel rather odd, though, like a surgery-happy parent, but recommended they are. Hope all is well with everyone. I cannot possibly get up-to-date on the e-mails we missed without completely stressing myself out, so I've deleted everything and am starting over. Thanks for being there! You've all been in our thoughts and prayers. Jody ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
