Guest guest
First… Thank you for welcoming me to your forum. I am a (very small, and so far `private') food producer in Kelseyville CA. My name is and my 5 year old Jersey is Pearl. Our email that lets us into Yahoo groups is stablefood@... HOWEVER, our regular email is stablefood@... . Wow, a self intro letter. I know each one of you have done this. The only place I seem to find like minded people are here on the internet (isn't that odd?). Currently in our State of CA Cow shares are legal. I am working with Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund for a Cow Share contract for our farm but it is really scary to think that someone could get sick from almost anything and blame it on you, your cow, or your sanitation, when it could really have been something different. I have many food allergies that have led me to my own garden, cow, poultry, eggs, and our first year of our own grass fed beef. So I guess that makes me a raw milk consumer and farmer according to your criteria. I have been farming on some scale my entire life. I make much of my own Butter, Cheese, Kefir (both milk and water) and yoghurt. I have been cooking our own dried and shelled beans and sun dried tomatoes that I packed in olive oil, this winter and gearing up for this year's summer garden, primarily heirloom vegetables. As the weather permits our orchard to produce fruit we also can and dry cherries, apricots, peaches, plums and apples, sometimes making apple cider and vinegar. I am also a member of the Weston A. Price Foundation, contribute to the forum `Keeping the Family Cow' and keep a simple Facebook page for the farm `Stablefood Realfood' in an attempt to reach out to the local community for farmstead food. I am also in the process of starting a local chapter of the WAPF in our county, since there isn't one already. stablefood@...
