Guest guest
I think we should spend some time sharing some positive stories about our ASD children. Here are a couple I would like to share. My daughter who is 3 just started attending pre-school 2 times a week at the Education Service District. She loves it. Her fixation right now is asking everyone their names. She has learned every name of every kid in her class. She was telling her older sister (who is NT) their names. Her sister said I have a kid in my class named Logan too. My ASD daughter said, " no my Logan " . She was frustrated since in her mind there is only 1 Logan allowed. My older daughter started to describe her friend Logan and my youngest said, " no my Logan has wheels to move " . So, she was good now that she was able to separate the Logan's into categories. My son who is also ASD is 12 and going to middle school. It was the day before the election and he was so excited. I told him that when he turns 18 he can vote. He was so excited and asked me what else you can do when you are 18. I told him he can buy a lottery ticket and that he has to register for the draft in case of a war. He was distressed and I told him not to worry because they will not take someone with Autism. He said, " Thank God, Autism is finally good for something! " There is a lot of beauty in our lives. We are blessed with different perspectives. Yes, there are many wonderful creations made of scotch tape!
