Guest guest
Let me start with a big HELLO to all of the old members of the Group and a heartfelt WELCOME to all the new members of the Humanity Healing™ Family. Old members…it is amazing I think of some of you that way – particularly since the Group here is just a few months old…but so much has happened in just those few months. When Liane and I realized during a conversation that if we combined her dream of a spiritual community with my goal of a network of healers to do pro bono work for those in need; we could offer individuals a multi- faceted approach to heal and grow, and in return, they could help others heal and grow. In that moment, Humanity Healing™ was born and I felt a fundamental shift in the Universe. From the Group to MySpace to our official website (still under construction, but I am very excited by the conversations with our new Webmaster), Humanity Healing™ has grown dramatically (or, depending on your perspective, been pushed because it is needed). We have connected with and promoted charities such as Aurora Village and brought within some wonderful non-profits such as UWIN (Domestic Violence and Family Abuse) and Kindness of Strangers (Animal Activism). Most importantly, we have been blessed in having such incredible souls (who you all know) join us such as Stefanie ( Group moderator and Volunteer Coordinator) and Alison ( Group moderator and Holistic & Alternative Healing Ambassador), as well as all of you who inspire us with your thoughts (, I know you claim to be snoring in the corner, but I want to discuss some ideas within the Humanity Living House), incredible poetry (thank you, Randy), words of wisdom (Bless you, Karma); but most especially, all of you who reach out to connect with those in need. YOU are truly inspiring and I feel both so incredibly proud and humbled to be part of what YOU are accomplishing. So why am I writing tonight? You have seen the recent polls that have been posted here. In short, WE NEED YOU! Humanity Healing™ is growing faster than just a few of us can manage. One of the main goals of Humanity Healing™ is to promote Spiritual Activism. Liane and I need your help. We need members to monitor Outreaches in a variety of venues. Not too long ago, I wrote to a friend of mine to describe what Humanity Healing™ was and I realized that something that recently happened to me was the perfect analogy. I was in line to board my plane for the last leg home from a long trip, when it became evident that the elderly lady at the front of the line was in confusion. She had heard her plane was boarding, but she was trying to get on the wrong plane and didn't understand the gate attendant not letting her onboard. He was in a quandary as he had a schedule to make and no other attendant to assist the woman. I stepped forward and introduced myself to her and explain that yes, her plane was boarding, but that they had changed the gate. I told that I was headed that direction myself and would be happy to escort her. As we walked slowly towards the correct gate, I learned of her visit to see her great-grandchild and that her daughter would be meeting her in Ashville, NC. We arrived at the gate just in time to get her on the plane and I spent a couple of minutes explaining 's situation to the attendant there and arranging for a representative to meet the plane and escort her to her daughter. I then turned around and ran like a bat-out-of-hell back to my gate in hopes of still making my flight. I didn't need to worry. The gate attendant met me with a handshake and told me he held the flight. As I got to my seat, the flight attendant informed me that almost everybody getting on board told her that there was a man helping an elderly woman to her correct flight and they needed to hold the plane until I got there. This is the essence of what Liane and I hoped to accomplish when we founded Humanity Healing – an opportunity to bring people together into a community, to allow them to connect with those in need of compassion, and to provide them the opportunity to make the world a better place in small, but definable ways. So here is your Call to Action and the plane is at the gate: will you give of yourself to make a small, but definable difference in this world?
