Guest guest
"Mozart and the Whale" is an EXCELLENT movie, as is "Snowcake" and "Mirale Run". All movies about people on the autistic spectrum. Very moving and hopeful. It would make an interesting discussion. Herskowitz Find phone numbers fast with the New AOL Yellow Pages!
Guest guest
Has anyone saw Dedication? Its with Crudup and Mandy , its about a man (Crudup) that has Aspergers as well as Obsessive - Compulsive disorder. He is a illustrator. I saw the trailer on it a while back and the producer talked about interviewing adults with aspergers when making the movie. It is a really good movie. I was so shocked when I watched it. It was like seeing my son as a adult. I have never heard of Mozart and the Whale but I am definatly going to check it out. Guest guest
I just checked out "Dedication" on my netflix account and have added it to my list. Here's the description if anyone is curious. Dedication(2007) R Actor Theroux makes his directorial debut with this romantic comedy about a misogynistic and largely disagreeable children's author ( Crudup) who's forced to work with a female illustrator (Mandy ) when his regular collaborator -- and only friend (Tom Wilkinson) -- falls ill. Also included in the star-studded cast are Bogdanovich, Amy Sedaris, Dianne Wiest, Bob Balaban and Bobby Cannavale. Guest guest
About 3 months ago, my wife and I watched a movie on an airplane that we still talk about often. The movie is " My Name is Sabine " and it is a French documentary by a very famous French Actress, Sandrine Bonnaire. Sabine is her sister and the film chronicles the life of Sabine who is now about 40 yrs old. If you are concerned about the future placement of your ASD child or simply who will care for them later in life, this film will provoke a lot of thought and a lot of tears. Although the movie is in French, I'm sure you can find it with English subtitles. There is a very good summary of the movie at the following site: http://www.aspiesforfreedom.com/showthread.php?tid=13629 You may need to copy and paste this address since I did not try to capture it as html. I can't describe the emotional impact this movie has had on us. This movie was targeted at the French government and has had some success in raising awareness and getting government action. We need more of the same here. Good luck to all, Rick & Sook Hall, Katy, Tx NT, 17yo Kelli PDD/NOS 14 yo
