As a result of hearing your needs, we are offering the following programs for Fall 2008:"Through Conflict to Connection""Through Conflict to Connection" presents Harville Hendrix and Helen La Hunt's IMAGO relationship theory and offers discussion, DVD viewing, in-class exercises, and short "homework" assignments to deepen a couples' ability to communicate and connect. The workshop offers real-life examples of people learning to improve a loving relationship by coolly exploring the hot-button issues unique to each partnership.Your facilitators, Donna and Tony Godwin, are IMAGO educators who have been applying the IMAGO principles in their marriage. We sincerely seek to educate partners in the opportunities present in any committed relationship.Pre-registration fee (required): 25.00 per couple - limited to 6 couplesOnsite fee: 60.00 per couple to cover the cost of workbooks, DVDs, and suppliesLocation: Unity Center, 9603 Dessau Rd., Austin 78754-3935Date/Time: 7-9pm, 4 meetings (October 16, 23, 30, and November 6th)Childcare: Available on site, if neededContact: dolores.groves@..., or FALL ADVENTURE CAMP IS HERE!!Three fun-filled days of adventure, games and activities. To accommodate families with busy schedules there are four dates to choose from. This camp is designed for 5-10 year old children with high-functioning autism, Asperger's and sensory processing disorders. Camp Director: Janice Drost is a graduate of the University Of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She is a Physical Therapist, sensory integration certified, and the mother of a child with autism. Janice has taught Children's Movement classes at UT and conducted UTAP Family Workshops. She has spent the past eight years focusing on continuing education studies in the area of autism spectrum disorders. Janice has presented sensory integration lectures and presentation's on the topic of sensory and behavior interventions in the home.Dates: Choose only three dates from Oct. 11, Oct. 25, Nov. 8, or Nov. 22Time: 8:30-12:00Location: The University of Texas campus. Step Into Sports - various sport skill activities, then...games on!Mid morning snack: Due to diverse food preferences and sensitivities, please send a snack and drink with your child. During this time we will focus on social skills and peer interactions.All activities will be modified for age and skill level. There will be a 2:1 (children to adult) ratio. COME AND JOIN THE FUN!!!Super SleeperHave you ever wanted just one entire evening for a night out or simple relaxation? Bring your kids to the UTAP Super Sleeper! We realize that you need time to revitalize, so UTAP is here to provide a safe, active, and fun-filled night for your kids. We are including all of your children between the ages of 5 and 11, not just your child with autism. We will provide healthy snacks, sensory-based activities, cooperative play, movies, and physically interactive video games. Bring their sleeping bags, pillows, stuffed animals, and any special dietary foods. Please administer any meds before you leave your child, as we are not prepared to do so.Date/Time: Drop off begins at 4:00pm on Saturday, November 1st, and pick-up is anytime prior to 10:00am, Sunday, November 2nd.

Pre-registration fee (required): 30.00 for each child with autism, and 35.00 for each sibling. This includes all activities, care and food. Super Sleeper limit is 20 children for the evening to ensure a 1:1 (child:adult) ratio.Location: The University of Texas campus. We have reserved the entire building to enhance security for your child. We have minimized the accepted age range for the safety of your children. We will have professional educators as facilitators, and a minimum of 21 undergraduate students supervising the children. We will order vegetable and fruit trays, along with meat and cheese trays, for dinner. Breakfast will consist of breakfast tacos, and fruit. Bottled water will be available throughout your child's stay. Tumbling mats will be used as padding beneath your child's sleeping bag. If you have additional padding or air mattresses, please bring them. Children will go to the bathroom accompanied by two, same-gender adults at all times. We will not impose a sleep time unless directed to do so by the individual child's parent. There will be a designated sleep area so children are not disturbed by ongoing activities. UTAP Screening ClinicWith Dr. Dilip Karnik at the helm as UTAP Medical Director, we are now offering clinics targeting children who have not yet received a diagnosis for autism. UTAP will provide activities and for over 135 children while their parents attend the conference.
