Kathe and Sue,

Thanks so much for telling me about your experiences

with this drug. I have to say that when I read the insert with my

prescription I really got very upset about it. After reading up some more on

the internet I have finally started to calm down some. How often do you have

bloodwork done? On average when you are on this med is it about every 8 weeks

or so? Has anyone experienced a loss of appetite while you were taking it and

if you did, how long did it last? Thanks so much for sharing with me all of

the info on your own experiences. Barb

Hi Barb:

Yes, I go in for blood work every 8 weeks - CBC and

liver enzymes. Unfortunately, I have not experiened

any loss of appetite lol! Wouldn't mind that side

effect at all - could use a few less pounds! Glad

that you are feeling better about MTX - it is

effective for me and hopefully will be helpful for you

as well.

I have bloodwork done every month. When I started taking Arava, however, I

had to have it done after two weeks, then every month. I have a CBC

(Complete Blood Count) and a Liver Profile. I don't know why he wants it

done once a month instead of every eight weeks. I'll have to ask him when I

see him in November.

Methotrexate has not caused a loss of appetite for me.
