Guest guest
Hi Ellen, My symptoms don't exactly line up the way I would think they would. I did have the daily fevers starting at about 1PM and just getting worse as the night went. Next morning I felt pretty good but never well. I had a highly elevated sed and WBC count. I had (and still do) have significant pain from my waist down but no pain in my upper body at all. I have NEVER had the rash or swollen joints. My flares seem to occur every year between April and June/July time frame. Prednisone and Methotrexate brought my fevers down and corrected my blood tests but never did a think for my pain. I had 4 doctors tell me I had Still's but my most recent one has reversed her diagnosis somewhat and said she doesn't think it was Still's but doesn't have an answer as to what it might be. I cannot seem to get my sed rate to ever drop to completely normal. Closest I got was 17. Usually it hovers around 35 to 40ish. In the mornings I notice my legs are real stiff but there isn't any significant pain until I begin to move. Then the pain seems to come pretty quickly and it takes me up to 3 hours to just get moving every morning. The wife has to wrap my lower back to my ankles in hot towels even though I have an electric blanket on high. ly, I don't know if it is Still's disease but I do admit there are some things in common with it. Goodmorning Darv: I understand the confusion. So what makes you think you might not have Still's Disease? Would that be because it's not a well known illness or because you just don't trust the diagnosis itself? It's a very difficult thing to diagnosis due to the fact it looks like so many other illnesses and the markers are very much " undefined " ? I have to admit when I was first told it was Still's I questioned it all the way down the line, never hearing of it before. Of course, I've never done anything that is common; I've always been the one that had to be different (I'm not kidding). The, so called experts, aren't really " expert " they just have more experience than I do in certain aspects. I don't call myself an expert when it comes to dogs, their behaviors or training yet I was raised in that environment. There's always something I can learn. But I digress. I have a Chiropractor appointment this morning. I'll check back with you when I return. I'm glad to see you're reading all you can on what you've been told you have. I'm hoping you use that knowledge wisely to assist the doctors. Take care and be well. Ellen
