Guest guest
I am, trust me...I am. PS it is going down to like 10 degrees tonight! Thank GOD for this house coming with a big 'ol coal stove.......my back room of my basement is 97 degrees... the oil furnace hasn't run all winter (a good thing when F****** heating oil is $3.20 a F****** gallon! F****** Rich BASTARDS speculating on oil futures..shortage MY ASS)) and my house is at least 72 throughout. Where I sleep is like 82, which is far too warm for me, so I have 3 fans on me all night long. Catch you later...I'm attempting to go to sleep now. Probably see you in about 1 1/2 hrs or so. Kirk. > > LOL. Thanks but I prefer the warmth here. Guest guest
You can keep it! I have to tell you about this coal stove though.......When I first bought the house I didn't know a think about coal stoves, other than this one looked like it was brand new (even though I know it is quite old) and I doubt it was ever used much. Well, making the money I was making and oil @ $.52 per gallon I was trying to sell it, as that room was going to be where my model railraod was going to be built (Have tons of stuff but no layout....got " whacked " right after building all of the framewrok and have no money to " play with " anymore...but back to the stove) and this guy calls about it and was asking me questions I couldn't answer. I told him to come over to look at it and make an offer. Well, he did, and offered me $200.00 (which at the time was nothing to me) and I thought I had sold it until he asked me when I would be delivering it....I busted out laughing, as this thing is roughly 3.5 feet atll, and 2' wide & 2' deep, all made out of cast iron with a decorative radiator type cover over it. I estimate this thing to weigh between 800 to 1000 lbs. I told the guy, you want it, you haul it.......needless to say someone was looking out for me on that day as I kept it, and a year or so later a neighbor of mine showed me how to use it, and it's been a huge money saver ever since! If I were to heat my house with oil this year I'd spend close to 3k....with coal, maybe $500.00! Pennsylvania has a low income heating oil assistance program, and I sent in my application the day I got it....but they wer so overwhelmed it turned into a lottery and I guess I didn't win. That's the story of my life anyway. Finally, after Stills wipes out every spare cent I had (which was a tidy sum) and I finally am " eligible " for aid...the aid dries up. I still wish I could do something with my trains, but that would cost way too much money. If anyone out there in Stills land has any Railroad History books they're interested in selling let me know though...same for old (1950 and older) fishing lures (another hobby)....let me know...... Guest guest
Right now in China gasoline is 33 cents per gallon...in Brazil (highest of South America) it is .55 cents per gallon...yet there is a shortage?????? I hope the oilmen & all of their friends are happy with the money they literally are stealing from us! Yet our Government has laws to protect us from price gouging!! It must be awesome to be so F****** rich that you can literally influence the government, wait..I wrote that wrong......literally RUN the Government!!!! We need an open season on Lobbyists & politicians. There needs to be a cap on the amount anyone can donate to any party or person running for any political office. I think $1000.00 should be the max, and you must be 18 to do so. That will eliminate large, greedy corporations and the super rich from controlling almost every aspect of our lives!!!! *WAKE UP AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!!* * Adios, Kirk.* > > We keep the townhouse at 73. Guest guest
Hey Ellen, don't be surprised to see a beat up Silver Chevy pickup with huge speakers in the back towing my boat show up in your driveway. 65 is cold????? I mean, I prefer it in the high 80's to low 90's during the day, and mid 60's at night....but that weather sounds enticing! Have room for a huge stereo???? Pool Table???? Boat???? Need a body guard??? LOL Have fun at work, Kirk. > > We keep the townhouse at 73. Way too cold for most Floridians but > just perfect for us. Guest guest
Hum - fur coats at 65 - that reminds me of a Sunday parade on the boardwalks I grew up on --- east coast- new jersey -- Easter hats and all.. Must be quite a show -- Re: For Kirk We keep the townhouse at 73. Way too cold for most Floridians but just perfect for us. Although I have to tell you that when we went down to the 40's and 50's I still wasn't wearing a jacket. Prednisone keeps me VERY warm. Watching the old ladies in their fur coats parade around like a fashion show when it hits 65 here is very funny. You should see it one day. As for the oil mavens; you're absolutely right, there's no shortage, just really greedy idiots with big mouths, smoking illegal Cuban cigars on their yachts! And with all this big stuff around them, can't you just see these rich asses petting a tea cup poodle or something along that line? Sleep well, Kirk. I'll talk with you when I get out of work tomorrow. Take care and be well. Ellen
