Guest guest
Hello my name is , I live in Livingston County MI. I own 1 cow, she is a first freshner heifer, just had her calf 3 weeks ago. We own her for our own personal dairy needs, not interested in selling milk or doing cow shares. Our goal is to allow the calf to remain with the cow, and for use to milk only once a day. I wanted to join this forum as I have heard there is a lot of good info here! In michigan raw milk sales are illegal, although many people get around this by selling "share" in their herd, and charing a boarding fee to take care of their share of the herd. In exchange share holders can get a certain portion of the raw milk for their use. Before we owned our own cow we were obtain raw milk through share holder programs. Also several years back we had owned a couple cows and were selling shares to friends, for various life reasons we decided to end that program.
