Hi...do you have any info on the use of valerian root in the treatment

of RA? My sweet Aunt June, age 78, is here visiting from Atlanta. She

has had RA since around age 40. She asked me if I knew about it as

someone was giving her great testimonials about it. I told her I'd try

to find out. Thank you for any help you can give me. She is my

hero...raised 3 kids on her own after hubby left for a babysitter, she

is so kindhearted and loving, and very strong in her faith. Her life has

not been easy, but she lives it as fully as she can.

Love & Hugs...

Hi Tess!

I don't know about the role of valerian root in RA. In the past I've used

valerian to help me fall asleep, and it worked fairly well for the first

week or two. After that, it seemed to peter out. Valerian is a mild muscle

relaxant and has a CNS effect similar to valium, but it's weaker.

Your Aunt June sounds like a very special lady. It's always so nice to have

family come to visit.

Sending love and hugs,

Carol

I also use valerian occasionally to help me fall asleep. It seems to work

pretty well for that, but I don't use it every night. I just take it when I

have trouble going to sleep.
