Guest guest Posted May 15, 2008 Report Share Posted May 15, 2008 Interesting new post being created: INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION University of London Chair in Autism Education Department of Psychology and Human Development Faculty of Children and Health Salary will be on the Institute's Executive Grade salary scale at a level commensurate with the academic standing of the appointee, plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum. This post is part of an exciting, new initiative by the Institute of Education which is committed to enhancing its profile in autism research and education. The Chair will be supported by a Senior Lecturer based within the Institute and a Research Associate based at TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education. The autism research and education initiative is being established with support from the Clothworkers' Foundation and other bodies. The postholder will i) undertake research into how to remove barriers to learning and participation in schools and society for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD); ii) determine how autism education practice in school and society as a whole can be evaluated more effectively; iii) promote the translation of research into practice to ensure that it has direct and immediate impact where it is most needed, through TreeHouse and the Institute's partners; and iv) establish a nexus for national and international communications regarding good research and practice in autism education. You will have a distinguished national and international reputation. You will be able to demonstrate research expertise, leadership and excellence in the field of autism education and related areas, commensurate with the ability to take a wide perspective on effective educational provision in the context of autism. You will have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications of international significance, a proven ability to attract research funding, and evidence of successful management of research projects at a senior level.
