Guest guest
- The aloe vera sounds like a great idea. Wrapping might not be as good as allowing it to heal open to the air - I think- as long as she lets you inspect her paws and you and she keep them clean and relatively dry- her wounds like ours will be ok.I think it is important that you check the paw when she gets out of litter box - make sure the area isn't red and oozy - just like any wound you might have. Those were the instructions my vet gave me- but understand I am not a vet and can't give veterinary advice - just pet owner. You might want to check on an over the counter antibiotic cream.... Again I know my vet usually doesn';t mind answering simple questions over the phone without charge- yours might not either. I'll post on Prayers for Pets site and see if they have some practical ideas beyond this...if they come up with something I'll post. Hugs and kisses to you and kitty,
Guest guest
Hi , It's probably a reaction to the hot wax and its removal, along with some stress. My cat regularly rubs all the fur off one eyebrow, and I just put a small amount of hydrocortisone cream on it for a couple of days. don't worry about wrapping up his foot, that would be more stress than he needs, plus might pull more fur out. Aren't cats wonderful? Mine got his tail too close to a candle one Christmas and burnt all the fur off the end. He never went near a candle again! God bless, Judi
Guest guest
Hi , Your poor kitty. I feel so bad for her. Something like vaseline jelly or hydrocortisone cream might do the trick. Only problem would be that cats like to lick when there is a foreign substance on them, so you might want to be careful using anything that has medication in it. Oh, and the cat litter may stick to it. I think that she'll be fine. Just keep an eye on it and watch for oozing or any signs of infection. I would keep her in the house until it clears up also. Don't want her picking up any other baggage from outside. I hope she feels better soon. Don't worry, cats are strong animals. It may just look worse than it actually is. Hope that I was able to help. Love and Hugs, Stacey in PA
