Guest guest
First, allow me to apologize for my inactivity of late. It is wonderful to see our list expanding and I welcome you all with open arms. a,I lost the picture you sent me,so if you can, could you upload it to the group for me.I have been reading with great interest all the sites on feet,so thanks . As you know I have stressed many times over for everyone afflicted with RA to take care of your feet by seeing a podiatrist on a regular basis. My latest fiasco is the worst I have experienced. I have a nodule where a lot of folks have bunions, on Monday it was very tender and stinging so I soaked my foot in salt water. Went to a friends for dinner and about 4pm and by 7pm it was swollen to the size of golf ball so off wewent to the emergency where we waited 5 hours only to be told he thought it was Gout and gave me a scrip. My GP was away so I went to his partner who also agreed it was gout. All I wanted was somebody to burst it and getrid of the pain. By Thursday when my own GP was back,he took one look and grabbed a syringe, stuck the needle in and drained it off. Instant relief! It was an abscess and now has become ulcerated so GP is desperately trying to save the top of my foot. I had to stop the Enbrel because of the infection. I just finished soaking my foot in Epsom salts and warm water. It is now bandaged but starting to sting again so obviously it will erupt again during the night. This is probably more than you needed to know but want to emphasize about taking care of your feet, examining them daily yourself looking for any unusual redness or swelling. Sorry to bore you with all this but I have had so much pain I just had to tell someone who would understand. Hugs & Love to you all.
