Trip to Erie or non-casting doc?

Hi! I don't know if you remember us or not, so here's a quick recap of

our story.

May 2007 - was diagnosed at 9 months old with a Cobb 45/RVAD 21

curve (x-rays taken in an upright position). She had an MRI and a

neurological exam, both showing no abnormalities.

July 2007 - She had another set of x-rays that Dr. measured at

Cobb 27 (RVAD unknown; x-rays taken supine).

August 2007 - (Right after her 1st birthday) We traveled to Erie to have

her examined by Dr. . They took another set of x-rays (supine),

which Dr. measured as Cobb 21/RVAD 1 with " almost no rotation " .

He said she looked great and that he was fairly certain that her

scoliosis would be/is resolving (yay!). He recommended that we get

another x-ray taken in 4 months and send it to him to look at/measure.

Since then, she has had 3 sets of x-rays taken here in Michigan at our

local hospital and sent down to Erie for measuring (the first set by Dr.

and the last 2 by Dr. ovitch). All of these x-rays are

showing no detectable changes, with no treatment recommended by either

doctor (actually, Dr. said we " could " brace if we wanted to,

which we have chosen not to do).

At this time, Dr. ovitch has said that needs to be examined

in person by either himself or another orthopedic surgeon.

So my first question is:

Are there any " casting docs " here in Michigan yet? We have a 3-month-old

son who is exclusively breastfed and would have to come with me if we

took down to Erie. It would be much more convenient if we could

see a Michigan doc.

If not, do you think it would be alright if we saw a non-casting doc,

since it doesn't look like will be needing casting anyway?

Additionally, does anyone here have any thoughts on 's situation?

It seems like she's in a " gray area " and I'm worried that her curve

isn't resolving yet.

Thanks so much for any help you can give!
