Guest guest
Kathe, PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome--instead of ovulating, the ovaries form cysts. Along with it comes a tendency to weight gain with difficulty losing weight, excess facial hair, and insulin resistance. I didn't know I had it until my daughter was diagnosed with it, and then found out it doesn't go away just because you're an old bag like me (57.) She is on Avandia, as I will be. She is one of the lucky ones that was able to get pregnant with treatment, so that is why she is having triplets. The RE (reproductive endocrinologist--don't ask me to say it!) is interested in the aspect of any relation between PCOS and RA. Makes life interesting!
