TRUE Story from Stanford

I received this from a friend of mine..

Kind Regards,

Pat

Austin, TX

The truth of how Mrs. Stanford formed and grew the university is much more

interesting than this falsehood.

Stanford was the FIRST and ONLY major university to accept women - about as

many females attended Stanford as males - right from the beginning. Worse

than that, she scandalously allowed Chinese women into the university (one

Chinese female MD Stanford graduate was murdered by the communists Chinese after

she returned to china to help her people). My mother's oldest sister

attended Stanford in the 30's mainly because of the great job she had done in a

contest to sew the best apron! Then, after receiving her PhD from Cornell,

went

on to become a US ambassador to both Thailand (in the 50's) and Ghana in the

60's.

The Stanfords threw nearly all of their financial resources into growing the

university. However, when Mr. Stanford died the estate was sued and Mrs.

Stanford spend decades fighting that lawsuit (from the government itself) and

tried desperately to keep funding to the University. She was getting sicker

and sicker by the year yet she sacrificed her health and fortune to keep the

university open - it nearly had to shut its doors several times - Mrs.

Stanford always seemed to be able to dig deeper into her reserves of goodness.

Gosh, one would almost think that I admired them.

**************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape.
