Weight and joints

Morning Mandi,

I do agree that weight is not the end all of our problems with our health and

this disease and for that matter all diseases! It does play a big part for

Still's disease on our joints though as you mention. I was as you, only 107 at

my lowest weight of my onset and then after for at least 15 years 130 and am

5'9 " tall. But with that low weight I still had to have both hips and my right

knee totally replaced. So, yes it can happen that we can have much joint damage

and be skinny or be heavy and not have any. Just points out the fact that

healthy is better, but with Still's and the weight bearing joints " I believe "

lighter is better.

lot is blamed on weight (some deservedly so) but it can be so damn annoying

when you know its not EVERYTHING. I said from the very beginning when I'll

my joint symptoms got really bad that if I was over weight I would be more

likely to be dismissed and told to lose weight like that would solve the

problem. I

get the oversimplification that sometimes makes you want to smack some of

the experts! LOL ;) Not literally of course!
