Guest guest
Glad to hear he is holding under 10 degrees! Keep us posted on the Chari. I'll be thinking of you and will say a prayer for little Devyn. Jill Subject: Devyn's Xray yesterdayTo: infantile_scoliosis Date: Friday, October 17, 2008, 10:21 AM Hello Everyone,Have been very busy the last couple of weeks and haven't been able to respond to any posts. I wanted to let everyone know about devyn's appointment yesterday. He bounced from being completely straight back to 5 degrees. His doc said this is normal and anything under 10 degrees is considered in the normal range. He said lets go three or four months for the next xray unless we see that his back is changing and then come in sooner. He started school a couple weeks ago when he turned 3. We are a little concerned that his Chiari Malformation may be growing back. He had a headache last week at school and is having a few pee accidents a couple times a week. I am in the process of contacting his Neurosurgeon for an appointment. I will let everyone know what happens after we go to the doctor.Rochelle mom to Devyn 3yrs Infantile Scoliosis, Chiari Malformation__________________________________________________

Guest guest
Tasha We are not so worried about the curve it just is something to watch. It could be a sign that the chiari has started to grow back the two come together hand in hand, that is why they think his could be considered congenital. When the chiari grows back it starts to push on the spine again and most children with chiari have scoliosis and after decompression it usually resolves if it is a small curve. Larger curves like the one Devyn first had usually need help on correcting. It is just another thing that tells us it is time for an appointment to see if the chiari has come back. Thanks for thinking of us. Guest guest
Landon's curve went from zero after casting to 12 degrees at his last appt a couple months ago. We have a MRI scheduled December 4th for a follow up to his Chiari surgery (decompression done Feb 08). I wake up at night terrified the Chiari is not gone and that is why his curve is coming back. I will be praying everything checks out ok with Devyn. Please keep me posted. Guest guest
Tammy I will let you know when we have aour appointment scheduled. Please let me know what Landon's MRI shows in December. He was at zero in his brace in May and then went to 9 degrees with no brace for a month, then in August was at zero again without a brace and now two months later back to 5degrees. He is having a lot of potty accidents and has been potty trained since July. The accidents started about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. We asked him today if it just comes out or if he knows he has to go potty. He said it just comes out and it's an accident. This is where we are concerned. Just little key factors to say it is time for an MRI. Plese keep me posted on Landon. Rochelle > > Landon's curve went from zero after casting to 12 degrees at his last appt a couple months ago.
