Thanks for mentioning that,

. ISOP provides CAST Supply Bags, which help to waterproof the

jacket, saves the parents fingertips, and gives others something positive to

comment on, besides their shock of seeing an infant in a cast. ISOP’s

CAST Supply Bags include an 8 oz. bottle of Modge Podge, cotton fabric (gender

specific), Tacky Glue, decorating directions, a pair of Baby Legs, Calendula

Cream, some neoprene, & a paint brush for ~ONLY~ $10.00…..

Olivia and I would have great fun

decorating her jackets. is correct on the feeling of pride it

gives the kids (depending on their age, of course). Olivias jackets would

end up being true masterpieces of art after we got done with them.

Especially, the Christmas casts. There may be an old photo of Olivia in a

Christmas cast in the photo page of this group. If you’re

interested in a CAST Supply Bag, please e-mail me at heather@...,

and let me know if the bag is for a boy or girl.

Help for rough casts

Hello,

I saw a couple of posts regarding the roughness of the casts. Some moms

mentioned the

hy-tape and neoprene. I wanted to mention something that worked really well for

us that I

haven't seen mentioned for awhile. We used fabric and Modge Podge.

Basically you pick up some fabric from a craft store (bring you child with or

pick some of

their favorite characters.) For Noah we did Curious , Cars, Tonka Trucks,

etc. Then

you cut out the fabric and apply modge podge over it. Modge Podge is basically

a paste. If

you go to Shriner's SLC the Child and Family Life department will supply you

with some if you

wish (but again - you might want to bring your own fabric so that you can

personalize it with

characters that your child likes.)

The fabric/modge podge makes the cast smooth (plus it's fun to have a decorated

cast.) It

also works as a nice distraction for people who want to comment on the cast,

but yet just

don't know what to say. We heard a lot of " wow, look at all those cool

trucks " ...etc.) People

like to focus on the positives and it always brought a smile to Noah's face.
