Guest guest
Hi everyone I hope you ate all ding ok. I was wondering if you could help us,. Phil has just been given the go ahead for the newly approved drug etenercept. I know a few of you in America have tried this but here it is a real pain because it is new and expensive we have had weeks of appeals and consultations etc. about it. The info I have read about side effects etc is really scary from a wifes pont of view and the sufferers. Is there anything that any of you can tell us about side effects detc ad any positive or negative results. Also Phil was wondering if it is the normal run of things to have daily flares that last from 6 - 8 hours, as this is what is happening and has been for about 4 months and it is so hard to live with, mainly for him, but also for me and the children and will etanercept help improve on these. Anyuway thats enough as it is really early in the morning and think I should try and get some sleep before Phil wakes again. Take care everyone and hope you all have as Good a day as possible/ Love UK --------------------------------- Sent from Yahoo! & #45; a smarter inbox. Guest guest
, I think that " etanercept " is Enbrel over here?? I was on it, and I did better on it until it began to cause severe adverse neurological reactions and it was stopped. This was all the Dr's speculation, and I'm pretty certain they were correct, as most of the troubles I began having resolved themselves in a relatively short period of time after it was stopped. If they are the same drug, you can email me personally off list kbonanny@... and I can go into more detail. Regardless of me having problems, most people that I've heard of that were on it did relatively well, with no adverse effects. Reading the possible side effects of ANY drug can scare the hell out of you, but you have to weigh the risk Vs. the reward potential. Even though Enbrel caused me a great deal of distress....I DID " feel better " most of the time while I was on it. I was on it right around one year. If your Dr. recommends it, I'd certainly try it. I wish your husband success with it! Kirk. > > Hi everyone > I hope you ate all ding ok. I was wondering if you could help us,. Guest guest
Hi - I think that is Enbrel here in the states. I was in it for awhile. It worked great for a few months and then wore off, so I had to switch to Kineret. As far as side effects, I had none. Not to say that I don't have long term things that might happen to me. But for me, I want to feel good now, I need to funtion now, so it is worth the risks, to me. Let us know how he does!
