Guest guest
Hi Stilligans, from Florida here. My Rheumy requires me to visit him every 8 weeks. My blood work is always OK and, thankfully, I am mostly in remission. I have been a smoker for over 40 years and know that smoking is a filthy, unhealthy, expensive habit. Knowing these facts does not stop me from smoking. During my Rheumy's visit today I asked him if I could extend my 8 week visits to 12 weeks or longer. He said that as long as I continued to smoke, he would not consider it. Each office visit costs me $90 which I can ill afford. His nurse takes my blood pressure and pulse (both always OK), and he spends about 5 minutes with me. I realize he only wants me to be healthy, but do I have any say as to my lifestyle? Any comments would be most helpful. Thanks, **************Start the year off right.
